TIME TO MOVE ON
I think it's time we all put this year's Oscar fiasco behind us and move bravely forward. I think we can all agree that an otherwise impressive season of film was marred by a horrible awards show and some questionable victories.We finally watched LAYER CAKE a few nights ago, in anticipation of our upcoming trip to Amsterdam. While that city wasn't featured quite as prominently as I'd hope, I did find the film to be zippy, engaging and shot in an extremely cool visual style. And how about that Daniel Craig? Great face, great voice. Thoughts on him as the new Bond? I'd just recently seen him in MUNICH, where he affected a South African accent and wore some extremely tight pants. He's impressive.
And what a bonus: GUPPY from BLEAK HOUSE was featured in a small but important role.

i loved this film. how about that fight scene in the diner? whew. Daniel Craig will TOTALLY hold his own as Bond. pu-leeze. if we can survive roger moore for all those years, I gladly welcome mr. craig. (recently in DC, by the way, filming a new picture with nicole kidman and jeremy northam).
nerdalicious me watched the "making of" or whatever the extra clips were called and loved that they selected the ending that they did. (this is not a spoiler). the other one was lame.
sort of like the two different endings for GREAT EXPECTATIONS - the book (if anyone remembers).
