We Are Now Floating In Space

Just a quick note. Battlestar Galactica does not require apologists. Not anymore. After a season and a half, this show is a critical success and a solid moneymaker for the SciFi network. You can't call it an underdog anymore.

So once the show has exceeded expectations, what's left? The answer is an even more taught depiction of the most desperate times, where humanity's future hangs in the balance, and only the most deeply flawed and insecure human beings are able to shine a glimmer of hope.

Tonight we started to see what happens, at least for Lee Adama, what happens when that light begins to dim and go out. It's wrenching drama.

My ex was a big sci fi fan and i appreciate the genre but found Battle star gallactica a tough one to pick up and get engaged in if you didn't start from the very beginning. I do wonder though why Enterprise was cancelled because i found it very good..one of the better sci fi dramas on the tube. It seemed to have a big following and then they pulled it...do you think it was the cheesy intro song? I do miss it...now that is gone i guess Battlestar will have to do.
Cheerio!

Most of you probably know that I am NOT a fan of sci-fi in general. And even though when this show first started and Mike was watching it every Friday night at 10, I would routinely fall asleep before the second commercial break, I am now totally hooked. The truth is, you don't need to love sci-fi to love this show. You just need to appreciate good-story-telling, intense human drama unfolding at what seems to be a seriously dark time in the history of the universe, and first-rate acting. As far as I am concerned, this is one of the few TV offerings worthy of discussion on this blog. (Yes, there you have it, my virulent anti-TV bias.)

Check it out. You won't be sorry, but you just might be deeply freaked out on a Friday night.

Glad to learn you are a fan, DBH. We had no idea! (See how this blog is fostering communication?) Something I forgot to mention in my earlier comment: there is a disproportionately high number of extremely HOT people on this show.
As if you needed any further incentives to check it out...
